ND and Ohio St are going to dominate the 8PM time slot
Networks want viewers, viewers = $$$
Noon is the second most watched time slot on Saturday's

This noon kick is kind of a preview of the impact of the new tv contracts. In the past, ABC/ESPN had the Big10 games so they could juggle things around and the Big10 didn’t do many night games after September. Now NBC will be doing Saturday night Big10/ND home games every week. The SEC will get more ABC/ESPN 7:30/8pm games so I expect more marquee ACC matchups will get slotted to noon going forward as ESPN tries to combat the loss of viewers to NBC in the evening.

If Clemson were #1 and FSU were #2, we would still get a tiny fraction of the viewership of a ND OSU matchup. It is just ratings. We need to be happy we are not getting pushed to ESPN7++.biz after the start we have had.

There’s no doubt the 12 slot is a rating bonanza. However, it’s a burden for fans and recruits. I have never been to a 12 game with the atmosphere of a late game and that includes several SC games.
