since Dabo took over. Yadayadayada. We have been spoiled with Deshaun and Trevor. DJ is not either and has a different supporting cast. Kade is just not ready. That means the rest of the team has to carry a bigger load and wins will likely be ugly and losses will also be ugly.

The problem is scheme, play calling and a QB that is slow with no field awareness. The WRs have lost the edge they need because they are fighting a losing battle.

No it's not scheme or playcalling.

#1, the ESPN statement was incorrect
#2, there are magic schemes or playcalls when the QB is mentally struggling and often fails at basic playcalls.
Insert solid QB play and the entire offense looks better.

What is sad is that we have the caliber of players that can probably excel in most offenses and we don't excel in any of them. Just about every team we play, including Furman, and other lower tier D1 teams haven schemes and players that can make plays ......... just not as many as we do. It is inexcusable really!

What relevance does that have? Why compare something that long ago to now?

I don't know ask the sports commentators and coach Swinney they talk all the time about where Clemson once was and where they are now. If you just want to talk about where we are now in relation to other teams this current year look at the rankings in the previous post. Clemson is in the bottom 15%.

We had 329 yds/game in 2008, and 362 yds/game in 2009

We had 25 pts/game in 2008 and 31 pts/game in 2009.
In 2022 we're getting 406 yds/game and 35 pts/game.
Looks the talking head swung and missed on that one.
