Neff Will Never Fire Dabo

I have this feeling that Neff will never fire Dabo. I for one am happy about it because Dabo believes in Christ, the culture of this program, and for most of his career has not been wrong about the direction of the program. He openly admits that we are in a slump, and he has stated that he has a plan to fix it. I mean, I have posted dumb things out of frustration; I'll admit that. However, he brought up a good point in the presser earlier. Winning the league 8 of 10 seasons isn't something to take lightly.
Some may disagree and believe that he should be packing up his bags already. Where were you during the Tommy Bowden days? Where were you during Frank Howard's days whenever he overstayed his welcome at Clemson by more than 10 seasons? Would you have fired Frank Howard or Tommy Bowden? Odds are, Clemson will keep Dabo Swinney on the staff as the Head Coach for the foreseeable future and if you're rooting against him, it's a dumb idea. That's almost like hoping that the pilot of the plane you're on crashes because you hate his guts. It literally makes no sense.
No other active coach has a better win percentage. Below are the active coaches that have the top 3 winning records in College Football...
Kirk Ferentz: 204 Wins The Iowa coaching legend enters his 27th year with the Hawkeyes. A former NFL offensive line coach, Ferentz’s teams pride themselves on line play, producing NFL tight ends and strong defenses. Ferentz’s dedication to the line of scrimmage makes opponents flinch. Eight double-digit win seasons. A Big Ten college football icon, Ferentz sits alone as the winningest active coach in all of college football.
(DUDE HAS BEEN THERE ALMOST 3 DECADES AND HAS TONS OF LOSSES TO SUBPAR OPPONENTS. IT'S NOT ABOUT QUANTITY IT IS ABOUT QUALITY WINS)
SIDE NOTE: It's been 21 years since this guy won any championships.
Brian Kelly: 195 In his 21 previous seasons, the well-traveled coach racked up twelve 10-win campaigns. Kelly’s ability to recruit and develop offensive talent remains his truest calling. Now, his goal? Bring LSU back to championship contention, finally capturing his first national championship as an FBS head coach.
(THIS MEATBALL HAS 4 MORE SEASONS THAN COACH SWINNEY AND ONLY 5 MORE WINS. LET THAT SINK IN FOLKS.)
To further my point, this meatball has only (5) conference championships and that was at Grand Valley State; a Div II school.
Dabo Swinney: 180 Many believed that Swinney would make a better coach than a player during his time at Alabama as a wideout. Two national titles, nine Conference Titles, and fifteen years ending with 10 wins established him as one of the greatest coaches in college football history.
Tell me again why Clemson should move on from Dabo. I may get frustrated from time to time with his stubbornness, but I will defend my position on keeping him at Clemson. I am prepared to die on that hill. If you feel different, then tell me who we should hire to replace him. I see some calling for his termination, but nobody has a solution for a replacement. I want to hear your replacement solutions.

Dabo gave all these idiots several years of being able to strut around in their Clemson gear and feel important…even though they didn’t do anything. They enjoyed that so much that they now want it and expect it every year. And when he doesn’t give it to them, they want him fired.
It is wild.
You’re right. Neff will not fire Coach Swinney. Nor should he.

Yes indeed.
We have great coaches at Clemson in the three major sports. Dabo takes the lead there...

Just don't extend him. He has proven his developmental program is actually not. The only development is the jobs program for friends, family and ex-players.

Dabo will leave if he doesn't feel loved and appreciated.

You don't have to fire him. Although he may be worried about leaving all his grifting friends that are on staff in the lurch.

Any such talk is absurd at this point.

Yes, we have sucked a giant mule dong so far. We have been outplayed for 5 of the 6 halves we've played in just about every aspect of the game. We look like we are sleepwalking or playing a scrimmage game. Dabo's take that we are just a few plays away is cherry picking at best and ignores much bigger, undeniable issues.
Still, Dabo has more than proven himself as a coach and a leader. Is he above criticism? Of course not, but he has more than earned a chance to get things fixed before talk of firing him.
