Travis’s injury, then elevate them back to 4 the following week?

Was the Committee tipping their hand? If so, then why didn’t they stick to their guns? They dropped them in response to the injury, then moved them back up after they won with the next guy up. But did not give them the benefit of the doubt when the third string guy took over for a single game (and won), knowing that the #2 guy was available for the playoffs. Tired of dissecting it, but this seems weird.
