Travel horror story.

Sep 29, 2023, 12:22 PM

Step kids grandparents (on Dads side) went on a cruise in the Mediterranean a few weeks ago. Grandfather ends up getting pneumonia and they take him off the boat and put him in a hospital in Greece. Health declined rapidly and he is now in an induced coma and on a respirator bc can’t breathe on his own.

He is basically gonna die for sure, and in a foreign country without barely any of his family. All bc they went on a cruise. Guy is only 67.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

Jeebus. Ts and Ps for them.***

Thats crazy. Cruises seem sketchy. Did have any health issues before...observation or anything?

He was going to the gym 3 times a week, not overweight, hadn’t smoked in 30 years. Must have caught some virus on the cruise and then it turned into pneumonia. Just crazy. My parents are 70 now so this hits home that they could just be gone at any time.

My Mom was totally normally and then one day she was driving and just blacked out. Next thing they take her to the hospital with COVID and she was in there for 6 weeks. She has been back around for a month and all of a sudden she is coming back around and not seeming senile. She doesn't need to use oxygen or anything. There is some stuff going around crushing some people. Anyway, maybe that guy comes though. I kind of thought my Mom was a goner. You never know.

I really hope a miracle happens.

I don’t even personally know the man but it will affect my step kids a lot and I don’t want them hurt. I remember how much it hurt when I lost both my grandpas in a year period when I was 15-16.

They live in one of those Sun City communities, so everybody is right around the same age demo, and people are starting to drop left and right. Recently, one of his buddy's got a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis and was dead within a couple of weeks.

FIL is a little shook right now.

My uncle had colon cancer about 6 years ago and beat it. But then just a few weeks ago he was told he has it again and it’s not operable. They flew up to Boston to a great cancer hospital for a second opinion and those doctors are trying to do something instead of nothing. But he is only like 63 and prob will be gone in the next year or so. Sucks a big fat one

That's why I'm glad I had a colectomy.

I have had 3 fraternity brothers from Clemson, all in their low 50's who died this year. It's wild.

That was supposed to say obesity and not observation. Auto-correct.
