All In Cookout update
Jul 22, 2016, 9:37 PM
|
|
First off, I can tell you that all five of the uncommitted targets we thought would attend the Tigers' end of summer recruiting event did indeed show up. Jordan Williams, A.J. Terrell, Justin Foster, OrTre Smith and Jamyest Williams all made it in.
However, I am not sure we can expect a commitment out of the event. I've been told it's "all quiet" on that front. Everybody is having a good time and it's going well, but all of these guys have indicated they want to commit later in the year, so I am not expecting anything tonight.

Yes, thanks as always David.,however, it sounds like the Harbaugh traveling road show and the entire CFB about smoke and mirrors Dabo's cookout must becoming passe'? Hopefully we can get a few more commits but it'll just be without the excitement the "All In Cookout" ??

Good thought that recruiting may be changing

But I would argue that this still may pay off for us Bc it's a chance for the guys to hang out with staff in a laid back setting and for our staff to be just real. I think Bc of who is left in the list and number of offers they have they want to be slower to commit etc and may wait till later in the game. Hopefully a couple will be early enrollees but is think cook out still pays off it just may not be as obvious.

So, it is going to be your fault if we didn't get commits from these guys, then! I hope you learn from your lack of initiative and effort and do better next time.
Say, is there any of your Mom's peach cobbler, left?...

Next cookout ,I will be sure to take a healthy double-sized tray of peach cobbler and my mom's incomparable banana pudding. They're both so good that it makes you wanna slap yo momma.
Sorry, there aren't any peach cobbler leftovers, but there's plenty of fruitcake left.

Thanks David.
OrTre is a great kid who I know from when he and my son played baseball together. I know his mom (Taisha) but haven't talked with her in a couple of years. FWIW I just can't believe he's going to end up as USCjr over Clemson. I know she wants him to get his education and earn his degree.
With her Clemson ties, comparative academic rankings, football pedigree, etc...it's jut hard to imagine.

Are there fewer recruits at the cookout than previous years? Seems like last year it was teeming with 2015/2016 guys.
Let's get these 5 and I'll be over the moon though.
