I would think any defensive player coming out of Batesburg-Leesville are still seeing Daquan Bowers accolades around, and if Clemson is your spot, you really want to impress.
I know Bowers(forever DE) is now on staff, so he probably has an ally on that staff for sure. At DT, he want a few more Lbs on that frame. I know a family member of his so I'm rooting for him.

I thought that Daquan went to Bamberg-Erhardt.
Anyway, I love seeing walk on players putting in the work. I agree ts tiger, I am rooting for him as well!

Buddy Gore is in his final season at Clemson - Buddy Gore a Bad Man!! - And Richie Luzzi records the longest play in Clemson history with a 108 yard missed FG return vs UGa!
And Clemson Basketball plays its first game in Littlejohn!
Season Overview:
According to Wikipedia:
“The 1968 Clemson Tigers football team was an American football team that represented Clemson University in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 1968 NCAA University Division football season. In its 29th season under head coach Frank Howard, the team compiled a 4–5–1 record (4–1–1 against conference opponents), finished second in the ACC, and outscored opponents by a total of 184 to 179.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
Worthy of Note:
Tigernet describes a key play in the game at UGa:
“September 28, 1968 Richie Luzzi returned a missed Georgia field goal try 108 yards (100 officially) for a Clemson touchdown, the longest play in Clemson history.”
https://www.tigernet.com/football/history/timeline.jsp
And Wikipedia adds the following:
“Quarterback Billy Ammons and defensive end Ronnie Duckworth were the team captains. The team's statistical leaders included Ammons with 1,006 passing yards, Buddy Gore with 776 rushing yards, Charlie Waters with 411 receiving yards, and Ray Yauger with 42 points scored (7 touchdowns).
Five Clemson players were selected by the Associated Press as first-team players on the 1968 All-Atlantic Coast Conference football team: back Buddy Gore; offensive tackle Joe Lhotsky; defensive end Ronnie Duckworth; defensive tackle John Cagle; and linebacker Jimmy Catoe.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
Results:
September 21 at Wake Forest T 20–20 September 28 at Georgia* L 13–31 October 5 at Georgia Tech* L 21–24 October 12 Auburn* L 10–21 October 19 Duke W 39–22 October 26 at Alabama* L 14–21 November 2 at NC State W 24–19 November 9 at Maryland W 16–0 November 16 North Carolina W 24–14 November 23 South Carolina L 3–7
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
With the 7-3 loss to the Gamechickens, Clemson now leads the series vs. South Carolina 38-25-3.
Richie Luzzi’s 108 yard return vs UGa would have been fun to see! Here is a picture of his return from ClemsonSportsTalk.com:
 (From: https://clemsonsportstalk.com/s/5177/clemson-a-family-tradition-decades-in-the-making)
Also in 1968:
According to ClemsonWiki:
“June 5: The assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, a United States Senator and brother of assassinated President John F. Kennedy, took place shortly after midnight on June 5. He was killed following celebrations of his successful campaign in the Californian primary elections while seeking the Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States. The perpetrator was a 24-year old Jordanian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan, who assassinated Kennedy because of the senator's stance towards Israel. As of 2008, Sirhan remains incarcerated for this crime.”
https://clemsonwiki.com/wiki/1968
On a more positive note: According to ClemsonTigers.com:
June 6, 1968 – Lefthander John Curtis became Clemson’s first first-round major league draft pick. He was the No. 10 overall pick in the secondary phase by the Boston Red Sox.
https://clemsontigers.com/clemson-baseball-timeline/
And also from ClemsonWiki:
“November 30: Clemson plays its first basketball game in Littlejohn Coliseum, defeating Georgia Tech, 76-72.”
https://clemsonwiki.com/wiki/1968
As for Clemson star Buddy Gore:
According to ClemsonTigers.com:
Aubrey “Buddy” Gore was Clemson’s greatest running back in the 1960s and perhaps during a 22 year period from 1956-78. Gore led the ACC in rushing in consecutive seasons, 1966-67, and was named the ACC Player of the Year as a junior, the first Tiger in history so honored.
Still an avid Clemson fan, who looks like he could still play today, Gore carried Clemson to the ACC Championship in 1966 and 1967. His most celebrated performance came in is last game as a junior, at South Carolina. All Gore did was rush for 189 yards in 31 tough carries, leading Clemson to a 23-12 victory. In addition to leading Clemson to the win over its arch rival, a win that gave Clemson the conference crown, he set the ACC single season rushing record and became Clemson’s first 1000-yard rusher in the process. He ended the season with 1045 yards in just 10 games.
Gore also led the ACC in rushing in 1966 when he gained 750 yards. Twice he finished in the top 20 in the nation in rushing, including a number-eight ranking in 1967. That number-eight ranking is still the second highest ranking by a Clemson running back in history. His senior year he accumulated 776 yards, the third straight year he led Clemson in rushing.
While Gore ranks only fourth in Clemson history in career rushing, it must be remembered that he played just three years and 30 games. In his era, freshmen were ineligible and teams played just 10 games per year. Only Terry Allen has a higher rushing yards per game average over a career, and Gore still holds the school mark for all-purpose running yardage for a career with a 109.1 figure.
That last item speaks volumes about his consistency, all-around abilities and productivity.

Ol Richie used to have some glory days on the espn blog about great plays from the Sammich
We kicked off a series Monday at ESPN.com that we're calling "Yards to Glory."
It's a look at some of the most famous touchdown plays in college football history, spanning from 100-plus yards all the way to zero yards.
We've got every yard marker covered, and not surprisingly, the SEC is well represented.
The first installment looks at touchdown plays from 100-plus yards to 81 yards, and eight of those plays involve SEC teams.
Here's a rundown:
100-plus. Tiger Return
Richie Luzzi returns missed FG 108 yards
Sept. 28, 1968: The official NCAA record books don't list any returns longer than 100 yards, but Clemson fans and historians know Richie Luzzi was eight yards deep in the end zone when he caught Georgia's 47-yard missed field goal attempt and ran it back for what still stands as the longest play in Clemson history. The three-time defending ACC champs lost the game in Athens, Ga., 31-13, but Luzzi's play in the second quarter gave the Tigers some momentum -- and history.

Remember the death of Bobby Kennedy very well - was taking Political Science in summer session and my professor was excessively enamored with him, never missing a beat talking about him in class. Immediately upon hearing the news about the assassination, I said to myself, "What's this going to do to him?" When I went to class the next morning we were told that he had committed suicide
