Also very questionable to use a relief pitcher named Blewett in high-leverage situations.

Riley is a close second around .290. Literally everyone else is in the .260 or lower range.

If they lose to the Rockies, we’ll know.
Rockies have 12 wins. 12.

Honestly they are a few good arms away from being competitive. Strider has not returned to form. AJ Smith-Shawver showed good signs but tore his arm up and will be out till next year I’m assuming. Not sure what or if they will make any changes before the deadline. Used to have one of the best farm systems in MLB but not sure if that is still the case.

Upgrading the arms on this team won’t matter if they can’t score runs, and they haven’t been able to substantially do that for over a year now.

Scoring runs would definitely be a bonus but we wouldn’t have to score so much if our pitchers could consistently record some outs. Gave up 7 in the 9th against the D Backs. I’m not sure I had ever seen that before. I do agree timely hitting could definitely improve but I do believe the Braves have the talent to hit it’s just not happening so far this year.

Right now we are up 6-1 on the Brewers but not feeling confident that the pen can maintain the lead.

Alex Anthopolous isn't allowed to pay the market rate for top-tier pitching...

So the starting rotation is always going to be young. Braves have to press all the right buttons every year...no wiggle room for slumping hitters or bullpen misses. They're dealing with both this year, so they'll be lucky to finish above .500
They caught lightning in a bottle in 2021, but those days are long gone.

I grew-up in town with a Single A farm team so I got to watch players like Dale Murphy, Glenn Hubbard, Bret Butler, Bruce Benedict, and Preston Hanna. I can remember going to games at the old Fulton County Stadium, arriving five minutes before the first pitch, and easily getting seats between the dugouts behind home plate. In those days, it wasn't uncommon for the team to already be 20+ games behind the Division leaders less than sixty games into the season. This year has definitely been painful to watch and that is 100% on the front office. They had ample opportunities to shore up the the pitching in the off season, especially the bullpen, but instead chose to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

This team is difficult to watch. They basically can't hit right now. They constantly leave runners in scoring position and almost always take the the first strike which is the best pitch you are going to get. The relief pitching been just O.K. The front office needs to spend some money and get good free agents.
