Richard Jewell was the man that the law enforcement entities attempted to frame for the attempted bombing at the Olympics in Atlanta.
+1 for the humor of using it as a reference, but I disagree with comparing Kirby to Jewell.
Jewell was actually innocent, and as it stands, I don't believe Kirby could ever be shown to have clean hands with the vast number of shenanigans occurring in Athens, GA.

I hope Alan Judd gets his act together and finds some better sources to uncover what is really going on in Athens. Maybe a real reporter not afraid of being ostracized for standing up to the Bulldogs will come in and get this story out so that the world can see what Kirby and Co. are brewing down there.

Alan Judd is a hack who has now on multiple occasions misrepresented or outright falsified information to sensationalize a story. I have no love lost for UGA, but Judd should never work as a "journalist" again.

That may be so, and this was not a post in defense of Judd. Sensationalism or not, there is significant trouble in Athens and nitpicking over minutiae in the reporting of local journals will not be enough to cover everything up in the long run.
Good for them that they got a retraction on one article. That is not an answer to the larger picture and the scores of incidents that are being reported elsewhere about UGA and their troubles.
That is why, as I said, 'a real reporter' is needed to come in and get the truth out for all of us to read. We deserve answers, and personally, I look forward to them receiving some minor monetary punishment in the neighborhood of $8M - let's just call it the going rate for filthy SEC programs that must be defended and protected to keep the SEC printing press rolling in the dough.

Calling out a lack of journalistic integrity is not "nitpicking". Media with agenda is a massive issue in this country.
As for "significant trouble in Athens" - there may be, but right now that entire premise is based on your dislike for UGA being reinforced by a media institution that just admitted their journalistic integrity belongs in the toilet. Personally I'm not of the mind that handing 18-22 year olds lots of money and fast cars turning into speeding tickets is a uniquely Athens problem. Anecdotally I can assure you that Clemson football players from 2011-2016 were generally not well regarded as being exceptionally safe drivers.

The problem is not kids being dumb, it is adults and administrators being dumb. Clemson has kids that mess up too - you're absolutely right.
The difference is that at Clemson, Dabo disciplines our players and the shenanigans are made to stop. When players can't adapt to their required corrections, they get dismissed. It really is that simple.
Now maybe failing to attempt to corral the foolishness is uniquely a problem in Athens. I haven't heard of another program dealing with these widespread systemic behavioral issues since Penn State and Baylor.
