The Perfect Clemson QB (According to AI)

Saw some other school do it on the socials with their past great QBs so thought it'd be cool to throw it into one of the AIs (this case, Gemini) and see what was produced.

Here's what I got - I asked it to construct the perfect Clemson QB without any parameters or additional prompts other than compose the perfect Clemson QB based on the greats and thought it was interesting to say the least.
-------------------------------------------
Alright, let's construct the ultimate Clemson quarterback by cherry-picking the best attributes from some of the program's legendary signal-callers.

To build this perfect quarterback, I'll consider several key traits: arm talent (strength and accuracy), athleticism and mobility, decision-making and football IQ, leadership and intangibles, and clutch performance.

Here's my attempt at creating this composite Clemson quarterback:

* The Arm of Trevor Lawrence: Trevor possessed a rare combination of arm strength and pinpoint accuracy. He could make every throw on the field with velocity and touch, fitting the ball into tight windows and delivering deep passes with ease. His ability to throw accurately on the move was also exceptional. Imagine that cannon of an arm delivering strikes all over the field.

* The Athleticism of Deshaun Watson: Deshaun was an electrifying dual-threat quarterback. His agility, speed, and elusiveness made him a nightmare for opposing defenses. He could extend plays with his feet, pick up crucial first downs, and deliver accurate passes even when under pressure. This perfect quarterback would have that dynamic ability to escape the pocket and make plays with his legs.

* The Decision-Making of Tajh Boyd: Tajh was a smart and experienced quarterback who made good decisions with the football. He understood the offense, read defenses well, and generally avoided costly turnovers. Our ideal quarterback would have that high football IQ and the ability to consistently make the right reads.

* The Leadership and Intangibles of Steve Fuller: While perhaps less statistically dominant than some others, Steve Fuller was known for his exceptional leadership qualities and his toughness. He was a player who inspired his teammates and led by example. This perfect quarterback would possess that unwavering leadership and the ability to rally the team in tough situations.

* The Clutch Performance of Charlie Whitehurst: Charlie "Clutch" Whitehurst earned his nickname for a reason. He had a knack for performing his best in the biggest games and crucial moments.

This composite quarterback would inherit that ice-cold composure and the ability to deliver when the pressure is highest.

So, the perfect Clemson quarterback would have Trevor Lawrence's arm talent, Deshaun Watson's athleticism, Tajh Boyd's decision-making, Steve Fuller's leadership, and Charlie Whitehurst's clutch gene. This combination of skills and attributes would create a truly unstoppable force under center for the Tigers.

The decision making of Tahj Boyd?

Sorry. Tahj made plenty of bone headed plays in his career. He tried to lose the OSU game by throwing the ball on 3rd and 13 from the 50 yard line and giving up an INT with under 90 seconds left in the game. You can even see Chad Morris telling him NOT to throw the ball. He does it anyway. Let’s not even bring up trying to throw a ball away to avoid a sack while tumbling and giving up a pick 6 to a FSU D lineman.

I get trying to put different QB’s on this list for different reasons, but that reason for Tahj doesn’t work.

You're talking about a few plays

Every great QB makes bad plays occasionally (i.e. Watson's end zone pick vs Pitt while he also threw for over 500 yards). Tajh (the j is before thr h) also had a lot of great plays like the 4th and 16 drive vs LSU, picking apart UGA with Watkins, Hot Rod, and Seckinger, and 50+ yard TD run vs Ohio State.

I witnessed better decision making from Trevor and Deshaun, who both won Titles

Hold on there, the 4/16 play worked but it was pure luck. Go back and look at the film. Grisham, broke open over the middle and was so open he could have walked to the end zone.

You mean Humphries?

He was so open bc they were converging on Hopkins. And I doubt he would have made it all the way to the end zone. He was open for a pass later in the drive that got about ten yards.

What helped the drive a lot was perseverence. The talented LSU defense was extremely fatigued from about 90 plays. My son and I were at that game and Tajh took a lot of hard hits and kept getting back up.

when the ball is thrown, and go toward the receiver. It's comical, really.

Yeah, I think any team would like to have a QB with those traits

DW was athletic... but no where close to Woodrow Dantzler. Clipboard Jesus was clutch.... Woody was the first QB in college football to run for 2,000 yards and throw for 3,000 yards in one season. And Michael Vick went to the NFL after losing to FSU in the 1999 Natty.... Woody didn't start a full season until 2000.

He was more athletic than Michael Vick. That is saying something.

Like stated above... all you need is a combo of DW and TL, but if I was going to add anyone else, it would be WD.

I don’t have a problem with the AI list. Tajh opened the door for 5 star recruit quarterbacks to choose Clemson. I would have used Tahj’s toughness. That guy could take a hit.

I agree Woody should have been part of that list. I still have the copy of ESPN magazine with Woody on the cover. I’d have cited Woody’s ability to make something out of nothing.

Streeter was another under rated signal caller. He gave us a shot when we should have had none. He had no o line and was routinely knocked down but just kept coming.

So many greats. A handful of elites.

Streeter was tough as ####..... Had a bad leg fracture early in his career. In 1999 vs G Tech, he took a hit and it broke his collar bone. He got up and ran to the line and played the next play. The play was a pass, but the protection broke down and he scrambled and got hit again on a broken collar bone. He stayed down after that hit and in came Woody.

Streeter was one of the toughest QBs I have ever seen play the game.

A better argument might have been the toughness of Boyd, but it's hard to argue against a guy that beat the Coots on a torn ACL
