Burrow graduated from Ohio State in three years. Once he realized he would be playing behind Haskins, he transferred to LSU as a graduate transfer.

Just off the top of my head.
BTW, Travis didn't come in and knock it out of the park. He actually transferred to FSU from Louisville while Willie Taggart was the coach. He was ready to change positions or even quit football after one year with Norvell, due to lack of confidence, and Norvell talked him out of it.

Technically true but I took the OP's intention here as...who transferred and saw IMMEDIATE success.
Joe B. didn't pop until year 2 after he transferred. He was pretty pedestrian until he somehow unlocked his inner Tom Brady that last year.

Fields was an immediate transfer. Played at UGA in 18 backing up Fromm. In 19 lost to Clemson and in 20 beat Clemson.
You may be right about Joe Burrow. He was all over the place. But it may have been before the rule change when he initially transferred.

Ahh yes you are right, Fields transferred in '19. I think he was in the first "portal class".
Burrow transferred in the spring of '18 before the portal existed.

That doesn't mean he wasn't portal. Look at Tez Walker, for example. He portaled to UNC, and also had to apply for a waiver (and appeal multiple times).
