Nick saban

I'm tired of hearing ESPN call him the greatest coach ever. He is definitely one of the best in college football, but not all together the best coach. I am going to put some names here and let y'all decide if saban is better. Phil Jackson, bill Walsh, coach K, red Auerbach, bill belichick, anyone else want to weigh in?

Bear Bryant

I was thinking Bear Bryant as one of the greatest and the reason why is not only his own wins, but those who were once under his guidance, including Danny Ford.
This article explains it better than I could. In it you'll find Gene Stallings, who I believe was Dabo's coach. Thus, by extension, our coaching staffs have descended from Knute Rockne.

The best coach is the one who does the most with the least = Bill Snyder. End of convo. I could coach Bamas all star team to 10 wins. I couldn't get 3 wins out of k state back in the day.

In his field, he is the best. How can you compare across sports?
Coach K is a great college bball coach who only has 5 titles in 36 years at Duke
Saban has 5 titles in 9 years at Bama.

I agree. I hate it as much as anybody but Nick Saban will go down as the greatest CFB coach ever. He's light years ahead of Bear Bryant. He's dominating CFB in an era with limited scholarships. Just watch the NC game last year to see how his coaching just took over that game. We were the better team that night but they won because Saban knows how to coach football and make the right calls.

Means nothing
Over the last 10-15 years, Saban is tops in college football and sits at the table with the top college football coaches to ever walk the sideline.

Strictly speaking I would say in the college ranks he should be right at the top.
