is tied with Minkens for the 3rd most solo tackles at 30. Woodaz 33 and Carter 31. Also 2nd in sacks with 4 to Parker 9. Carter 3.5, Woods 3, Woodaz 2. Should've been on the field in the 4th eyeing the coot QB.

And clearly Dabo missed on that too because those are the types of things a head coach should override. I would think the call actually came from Dabo just like the decision to ride an ineffective and hurt/timid Mafah in the 2nd half when we were shredding them through the air. The TB up the middle problem has been a Dabo issue going back to late Etienne and Shipley.
It is really the focus of our offense and so many times even when we are killing it in passing we totally shift to that. Beyond sickening to watch. As soon as it was clear (pretty early it was) Mafah was averaging 2 yards per touch we should have shifted from that. Maybe giving Mafah one touch each series max. WE WERE DOING WHAT WE WANTED THROUGH THE AIR!!!

Your takeaway doesn't match what actually happens... Mafah really only had one poor run which came on the possession before South Carolina scored the game winning touchdown.
Now I will agree. It was a stupid decision to give him the ball on a second and long situation earlier in the quarter. It was nearly a wasted play.
But his other second half runs were all effective plays.. a couple of good first down runs to set up second and medium and two quality back to back runs on second and third Downs to give us a first down.

And he was on the bench most of the 4th quarter. Unforgivable.

But the kid is an exceptional ball magnet. Im convinced if he were in for the entire 4th quarter? We win the game.

He's so amazing he can help lead USC to another national championship. USC is close to winning a 3rd national championship, right? Oh, sorry, they've never even played in one. I need to stop drinking.

I'm not convinced that at all. You guys are just way overestimating brown. I'm not disputing the fact that he's a good player, but I just simply have not seen anything this year that makes me think he was gonna be superman out there yesterday.

Like 9 tackles in his limited time. Guy was on the ball carrier on every play. He didn't need to be superman. He still has tbe fundamental tackling ability taught at tbe high school level. Sellars broke a ton of arm tackles yesterday..when we actually approached him wrapped and rolled he went down. Go watch tbe tap. We continued to grab and keabe our feet to tackle. Horrid technique. The reason: an analyst that's never really played the game cannot teach the techniques!!

And that's why I disagree with you. Go back and watch tape from the games this year. Brown missed several tackles. He was out of position Several times. I mean people were making that complaint just 2 weeks ago When he had to play because Woodaz was out.
I'm not knocking the guy. I think he's a good player. I think you guys are just engaging in magical thinking. It's kinda like the backup quarterbacks always the most popular guy on the team. Everybody's all of a sudden thinking now that Sammy brown was the answer, and I just don't believe that's true.

games this year with the missed tackling and bad angles, he's not Superman but may get there. However, in this game if he's your leading tackler, 2 for loss, why do you stop playing the hot hand? Like when a RB is in the groove, you don't pull him at crunch time.

I just don't agree that The number of tackles Is really a good indicator. If you're making tackles 5 or 6 yd, or more, down the field, that's not really doing much of anything.

Was at the game and really didn’t notice this until seeing it on here. Why in the hell would you take your best lb out with the game on the line? Just dumb.

I had to watch the game on TV because I’m out of town, I’m convinced the people in the restaurant thought I had Tourette’s, I was so angry in the fourth quarter at Wes Goodwin in his decisions

There's way too much revisionist history and wishful thinking going on around here.2 weeks ago when the pit game, everybody was lamenting the fact that Woodaz was injured and Brown was missing a lot of assignments.
