"rules" for university resources to be provided and directly used by student-athletes to make $$$? Can a regular student use the resources, too? Will there be university (state) employee(s) assisting? This could get slippery and only accelerate the demise of college sports.

This is a genius move by Dabo. He (the University) is simply helping them navigate the ins and outs of self promotion. Sort like another class, or an extension of the PAW Journey.

What about supporting the rest of the student athletes besides football? NIL is for all students not just football last time I checked.
I love Clemson and Dabo but this is getting ridiculous over there in the "off-limits" part of Campus. I am a graduate, donor and supporter of the Clemson fund so have every right to speak my mind.
All this roll out the red carpet for football prospects who of which will most likely get a free education, NIL money and a free ride is nuts. What will my IPTAY money really go to in 5 years...?

I think all of those people who thought college athletes were being deprived a fair cut of revenue, are starting to see that NIL will soon corrupt college football. Most fans recognize that the problem with college football has been $$$ (e.g. coaches salaries). NIL won't fix that problem --- it just pumps gasoline on the fire. It makes me sick.

If a STUDENT athlete has to now prioritize their time between their scholarship sport, academics and studies or their new found social media bonanza money making entity, which do you believe will receive their focused attention?!!!
Our world has completely eliminated self-thought and common sense, just sayin'!!!

We knew this was all about football first, and basketball second. This is not just Clemson's thinking with this plan, this is what the whole NIL is about. There might be a rogue student athlete in softball or golf, but this is about the revenue sports. Clemson has to throw all their NIL weight into the football part, since that is their bread and butter. Clemson basketball isn't going to carry much weight.
I do not know if Clemson, being in a small town, and with a small alumni base, is going to be able to compete with USC (SoCal), Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, UGA, Miami, FSU, Michigan, Texas A&M, Texas, etc. This will likely end in the implosion of many major college football programs, with their ability to compete with the big boys, in big cities. Clemson, Iowa State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Miss State, etc.
So long college football as we knew it. Clemson was fortunate to ride the wave at the end of real amateur football before the NIL tidal wave hit. Clemson will suffer I believe. Not enough rich alumni with major companies and businesses to be able to compete with what we already see falling into place. Clemson may become 3-star recruit U like USuC (UofSC).

It says "Student-Athlete" but it is attached to the football facility.
