Depth issues in the secondary? Swinney says no
Clemson fans may be worried about Clemson’s secondary depth, but head coach Dabo Swinney says the Tigers have both depth and talent in the back end of Brent Venables’ defense. Add in a little competition, and he likes what he sees. Full Story » |

Sounds like they have coached the Coot out of Fields. Hopefully he can go forward now and refer to that point in his life where he committed to them as being temporarily insane.

I have full confidence with the ayers we currently have and who will be hear this summer. Mullens will most likely be better when he arrives then chalmers after his rs year. Coach reed and coach V will have this defense in top shape like previous seasons. Go Tigers!! Can't wait for fall

Im not necessarily concerned about the players we have

Playing at DB, im just concerned at how long it will take the younger guys to get accustomed to college speed & the playbook. If they can pick up things quick we should be fine but if it takes until midseason for them to adjust then we might be in a little bit of trouble. Fortunately for us we have really good coaches and we will have arguably the best offense in college football next season to bail out the defense if need be. Go tigers!

After listening to what Dabo said last year in pre-season...

about our O-line, D-line, LBs, secondary, front 7, WRs, Mitch Hyatt, Wayne Gallman, Hunter Renfrow, DW4 and anything else he said - and then watching the season unfold - I am perfectly willing to believe him this year when he says the secondary is OK. Why in the #### isn't everyone else?
Relax you Nervous Nellies.

I don't think the drop off in play from out DB's will be that sharp.

Now our DE's, whew, I don't know. I know we have talent, and a bit of experience, but the pressure by Shaq and Dodd was one thing that helped the DB'S put a LOT last year. There were very few well thrown balls deep downfield. Still, I trust in the coaches to put a good team on the field.
