Some seem a little contradictory or similar -
Don't marry a man too poor, but don't spurn a man for his poverty. Don't marry a miser and don't marry a stingy man. Don't marry a clown or a silly girl.
ngl, had to google what it meant to not mitten a mechanic or what a fop, crank, and a fine feathers is.

I looked that one up.
“Don't mitten a mechanic”: Using a 19th-century verb form of mitten meaning the rejection of a suitor, Hildreth begs women not to snub a tradesman “simply on account of his business.” This was short-sighted. “If he is worthy, never mind his business. He can grow out of it, and will grow out of it.Jul 15, 2016

How does one "mitten" a mechanic?

Do you create webbing between their fingers? Does one tape their fingers together? Does one cause them to stop working with their hands? Odd verb choice.
I guess a modern-day term for "fop" is a metrosexual ... or non-binary. I may start using this term in my daily conversations about others. 🙂
Also, some on here are in for some disappointment.
BTW, I am not married. 🤣
