All these whiners down on the OC's and the play calling need to take a step back and look at the big picture. We NEEDED to play conservative during a MONSOON. ND had over 400 yds of offense and turned the ball over 4 times! They were down for 3 quarters and they had to take chances.
During a downpour with slippery footballs is NOT the time to try to set yardage records. You take your time, trust your defense and protect the ball.... just ask Notre Dame how much they're enjoying those 437 total yards.
It's a great win against a very good national power!! Enjoy the win for crying out loud!

Yep. Rain took away so much of our offense in the many easy throws we use to open up other options. QBs could barely hold onto the ball let alone WRs catch bullets on screens. If I'd told you we would have had to outman ND on both lines of scrimmage this game how would you have like our odds.

Given the circumstance, i.e., the MONSOON, I agree. Otherwise I would say we were too conservative. We had a number of chances to put them away. Big Kudos to our defense. They were amazing.
