This Clemson basketball team is average

Just being able to watch them post football season you start to see why they are not in top 25 and ultimately why they took an L to a bad Scar team.
Fortunately, for Brownell this conference is so bad at basketball he can survive.

I think we are a little better than average. But agree with you on ACC as a whole, it's almost shocking how bad a conference it seems to have become.

That's doesn't prove anything. Great teams can lose by 20 points in the course of a basketball season.

You cant really play that game anymore.
If you based results on Clemsons history in the ACC you would have to also account for the complete collapse of the ACC as a basketball conference/or sports in general
Brownell is not playing those elite teams day in and day out. Those players have moved on to the SEC.
He really is fortunate that the ACC is what it is this year. This team is really just an average unit building a resume off beating lower level comp

Good to great teams improve as the season goes on. This isn’t football with only one or two losses. Goal is to get playing time to develop depth and be ready to start peaking in late February or March.

Not at all. The refs controlled that game from the tip… we weren’t allowed to defend and the lineup combos for both teams were completely affected by the refs. Lakhin barely played

It’s great to have so many of the LF posters contributing in a single thread rather than popping up in multiple threads.
This team is well above average based on our record. We are not top 10 either based on talent. We are good enough IMO, to make some noise in March if we stay healthy and peak at the right time. BTW, you can’t judge a team based on its best win or worse loss as neither is representative of what to expect on a normal basis.

It's an NCAA tournament team.
If that's "average," I'll take it.
We have 4 or 5 players that can get into double digits scoring on any given day.
Chase Hunter can finally get his own shot.
No real weaknesses on the team and pretty solid defense.

Clemson is a good team, enjoy watching them play. But , that said, I don’t think we are competitive for top 20. ACC is really poor this year and has been for many years. The decline has been hidden by a team winning. - but a league is defined by depth, not a single or 2 teams.
