No way. DJU would not have beaten UNC in the champ game and definitely wouldn’t beat UTs octane offense. We beat ourself with lack of quality depth at skill positions and coaching analysis.

If Dabo would have started DJ and got the same result, the pitchforks would be out.
Yeah, in an alternate universe I would have loved to see a simulation with DJ, but he handles pressure even worse. I’m happy Cade got the experience and it will be a running start into next year.

I love DJ. He is such a quality young man that it is incredible. Maybe early in the year you are correct, but his confidence had been broken again and Santa wasn't going to restore it. He just was not the same QB as before Syracuse.

No one knows what DJ would have done but 1 stat that sticks out for me is that we were #2 in red zone conversions in the nation going into last night and DJ accounts for nearly all of that. As we all know, one of the big red flags last night was our inability to score in the red zone. It was truly awful. So, we can speculate all we want but that is a big contradiction when you want to think about how DJ might have played.
All water under the bridge now. All we can do is look forward to next season. Happy New Year!
