ACC- RISE UP
May 29, 2012, 12:14 AM
|
|
###### men don't fall under the delusions of the Big 12. The ACC is our home, we have been a proud member for almost 50 years. We have seen this conference grow over time, our history is here. The ACC if it would ever play up to its potential would be the #2 conference, ### are FSU and Miami doing right now. This conference will succeed, I believe in it and another valid point is that we go from a UNC controlled conference to a Texas one. STAY IN THE ACC, UNLESS INVITED TO SEC. We can and we will reach the national title through this conference, the Big 10 just a collection of slow mid-westerners, and the Pac 12 a bunch of pansies. The Big 12 has no defense also. The ACC's potential is limitless, THE OTHER MEMBERS MUST START PLAYING UP TO THEIR CAPABILITIES. Give me one reason NCSU, FSU, UM, GT, VT, and us can't consistently finish in the top 25. For years now GT's been getting killed by UGA, and numerous ACC teams have been embarrassing on the national stage that has to stop, RISE UP ACC, RISE UP!

OK! You have been married to a woman for fifty years. The two of you have six kids, the kids have given you grand kids. You come home early from work, walk in your house and there is your wife and the mail man getting bizzzzzzy. Regardless of the kids and grand kids. Your relationship has to end b/c the wife has destroyed it. And that is what I feel Swofford has been doing with our acc relationship for years. Time to cut our losses and move on from the acc.

at the worst analogy ever?

or his disappointment with the worst analogy ever? or his general rejection of the argument, which in no way compares to a mail man boning your 90 year old wife, because you do want CU to join the Big12?
just looking for a little clarity here.
because either way, that analogy certainly offered none -- though it hints strongly at a #### addiction.

The ACC has loads of potential, but theyve never lived up to

it. After a while, potential is just wasted talent. The fact is the ACC has never "risen up". I think most agree that if Clemson stays in a conference that falls further behind that its gonna really hurt our athletics. So Ill ask you this, do you have enough faith in the rest of the ACC to put Clemson's fate in their hands? I dont. Every year we tell ourselves, "this is the year the ACC becomes releveant". It never happens. I believe the ACC has untapped potential, but Im not willing to bet Clemson's future on that.

The ACC is not to bad in basketball, baseball, etc. The potential is tremendous in football. The bad perception is brought on by the media bias of ESPN. Winning is all that will change that, but it must be done within the rules or it is meaningless. Changing conferences will not change anything. You simply have to win. Go Tigers!

ESPN is not responsible for the fact that the ACC can't win a BCS game. The ACC (CU included) has choked on it's Corn Flakes every time we were on a national stage. We're the only ones that can change that. We do that, ESPN will give us our due.

Outside of FSU and Clemson, youve got Vt who has never actually done much on the national stage, their entire history is based upon beating up on Big East and ACC teams.....wow. Miami hasnt been good in at least a decade and are now facing some serious NCAA issues that could keep them down for a long long time depending on how things shake out. GT will never be more than average. They cannot consistently out recruit Clemson, USC, UGA, UT, FSU, and everyone else in the area that recruits the same players. Not to mention its borderline impossible to recruit for that dirty ### offense they run anyway. Beyond that, who is there that could be a perenial national power type team? There really isnt anyone. Oh well, screw it, we are good a bball right?

Screw the ACC. Sometimes you just have to leave home for a better home. You people act like the whole freaking university is going to pick up and move out west.
