Clover, you know my father in law, and I think what he went

through in St. Lo. Well, I can honestly say,he never complainned about anything. For those of us who never really had to sacrifice anything, you would think we would complain less. I guess getting shot by someone who intended to kill you when you were 18,19,20 years old, makes many things that come later seem trivial. We could all learn from you and others.

One of my uncles (Mother's brother) was killed at St. Lo on July 12, 1944.

About 50 years ago, to the month, for me. I will never forget the plane lifting off the ground and the huge roar from everyone. WOW.
And thank you for your service, my friend.
It’s great to be a Tiger, regardless of record, stats or anything else. Perspective. We’ll just try to turn it around.
After all, it’s just a game played by a bunch of kids who are family, friends or guys we just know from reading the internet. But man do we ever love ‘em. Then and now some make a lot of sacrifices to go fight wars for our country And a few make the ultimate sacrifice.

The experiences that you and Joe share with us about the realities of what life is like in combat should cool us down concerning our current situation regarding football.
Thanks, glad both of you made it back!

Grew up with a guy who went to Nam. He flew a slick, had three birds shot out from underneath him rescuing the wounded. Who knows he might have been you first ride back to the world.

They were used for lots of things- troop & supply movement, gunships, and medevac. I wish I had kept count of how many times I rode on them - always a thrill
