A Visit from St. Dabo

Twas the night before Texas
and all through Dabo's house
not a single scock was lurking
not even Judge Keller's mouse.

Cade's stocking was hung by the chimney with care
in hopes that the running game would somehow be there;
The defense was snuggled safely in their beds
as visions of a gimp named Ewers danced through their heads.

And momma-n-em in her Clemson hoodie and I in my orange cap
had just settled in for some bourbon and snacks
when out on the porch there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my recliner to see what's the matter

Away to the screen door I flew like a flash
I ripped back the curtains, tightened my robe's sash;
as the sight of the Weber dazzled my eyes
and my stomach did flips at the thought of smoked turkey thighs

But as I stood slobbering, a sight stopped my heart
For there stood Swinney Claus waving a depth chart
"Now Klubnik! Now Mafah! Now Wesco and Williams!
"On Parker! On Brown! On Woodazz! On Griffin!

To the top of UT Tower!
To the field at DKR!
Score away! Score away! Score away all!
Sack Ewers, sack Manning, make Sarkisian weep
shame their arrogance, leave their dreams in a heap."

They did not countenance obstacles,
this Tiger team so true,
they didn't look to TNET to
find what to do.

No, they believed in themselves
this band of recruited elves;
they didn't doubt, they didn't whine
or run for the portal door.
And when the dust had settled in Austin,
they were victors once more.

And Swinney Claus, ever gracious, took to the TV screen with a grin,
and thanked the Lord, and Klubnik, for yet another win.
And before the cameras cut to commercials, he smiled and whooped and roared,
"AWAY YE PORTAL PUMPERS! GO FIND ANOTHER BORED."
