Guess how many points our offense gave them? 21. (Punt, DJ pick 6, and Klubnik pick near the goal line). We lost by: 21. We played absolutely horrible and gave them the game. Our offense was stagnant all night but, when they got into a rhythm we were going fast and had tempo. Maybe we should try more? Jeff Scott was relieved of his duties. Guess who was on his staff at USF? Chad Morris. Who helped our offense tremendously a decade ago? Chad did. I know some feelings would get hurt on staff but I believe Jeff Scott and Chad Morris should be welcomed back with open arms. It absolutely would help our offense. Chad Morris is not a head coach and Jeff Scott needs to refine some things and in some years he will get an opportunity and succeed. Jeff Scott's recruiting was second to none. The playmaking WR's we use to get are now going to Ohio State. However, our WR route running is better with Grisham.
For many of you that keep up with recruiting around the country year in and year out, you know SOME of these highly touted guys are just not panning out. We are missing out on some guys. While recruiting services say one thing, we can all look at the Hudl highlights and see for ourselves.
Many people want to put tons of blame on DJ. He has throws he would like to get back. Lets look at the play calling and how vanilla we truly are. We rarely have motion to shift the defense, we never take advantage of the 1 on 1 backside opportunity. For years we did with Nuk, Sammy, Tee, etc.. I believe we were 2 big plays in the passing game from destroying the "confidence" of that defense. We never threw it down the field until it was too late. If you think DJ can't throw.. please go back to when he was just a freshman and played on that exact same field.
Why would we roll our QB out to his left backed up against the goal line? The hardest throw a right handed QB can make is rolling to his left. Our play caller did him no favors there.
Go Tigers.

LOL. Not only is the offense not helping the team, they are an absolute hindrance. Almost cost the 'cuse game. But, we'll give ol' dju another shot and probably get behind again, then decide to throw the future in the game....unprepared. Best is yet to come..... eventually.

When he was a freshman he had a kid named ETN who made a TREMENDOUS difference in the Tiger team. He is now doing it for big bucks! Clemson doesn’t have an ETN but I can see Shipley becoming an ever more important player for my team.

Yes Sir, and a kid named Amari. Also a seasoned veteran in Powell that teams had to respect. I'd love to have Powell now.

You are exactly right. ETN was the best player on that offense. Some will disagree but ETN put the team on his back many times. Solved alot of problems. Shipley is very versatile. His effort and leadership is some of the best Clemson has had. I’m just an outsider but that’s what I see.

I still can’t believe what I saw on Sat night…

…that game left me honestly questioning whether Clemson has any business fielding a football team.
If it wasn’t for the 100s of millions of dollars invested, I would say, scrap it. If what we saw on Saturday night is the best you can do against that horrid Notre Dame team, then your heart, mind, soul, and conviction is just not in it. Save everyone the time, money, and effort, and look to another sport.
That is just HOW BAD I thought the Clemson football team played. How a team that was ranked #4 in the CFP 4 days before this display of atrociousness was beyond comprehension.
I hope that what CDS said today is true, that no one over there has their head in the sand. Maybe up their A55e5, but not in the sand.
Let’s see what happens on Saturday. I don’t care how good Louisville is playing. Those yahoos DON’T get to come into Death Valley & get to take a dump on the PAW, PERIOD!

At least let him roll out to his right.

Dj5 can definitely make the throws. Said for 2 years we haven't given him a scheme to run the offense. But then he'll panic... by that time, may as well bring someone else in. And he does OK with a lead.
Anyway, to your other point on Scott. He's just got the knack of seeing potential in wr and could coach them up too. They got better under his tutelage. But spot on with your recruiting assessments. We've had to settle on our 3rd or 4th recruit on the big board. So what caused us to miss on so many the last few cycles?

Agree with your outlook 100%. A mix of both. Jeff Scott has a knack for finding talent and signing it. I believe he can seal the deal. Not saying other guys aren’t but he is one of the top guys in the country.
As far as recruiting, I believe we are missing on guys for various reasons. NIL is the biggest thing.
