I've tried twice to T-mail Crump (and B-miest) for this info with no luck.
My interest is with walk-on Scholarships that are likely to be 1-year awards. 2 players currently on T-net's Scholarship breakdown chart appear to be walk-ons, that I assume would be unlikely to have their scholarships renewed. But I can't find any information on how or when they got their scholarships and the chart does not have the "#" footnote designating them as walk-ons. The players are Ty Thomason and Kyle Cote.
Does anyone know the circumstances about how/why they were awarded scholarships??? Is my assumption that these 2 scholarships would be conditional for next year, based on the number of signees vs available Scholarships a valid assumption??
The potential availability of these 2 scholarships, plus the 9 seniors and 4 early departures (thus far) equals 15 scholarships. Which is break-even for the number of current signees. So knowing the status of these 2 walk-on's scholarships, will clarify the number of additional scholarships that can be offered as more early departures are announced.
So if you have any insights on these scholarships please reply.
The number I'm looking at is 13 5th year seniors. That's a very high number and unlikely to stick. Several of those guys could transfer and play immediately somewhere else.
Those 2 guys will not have their 1-yr scollys renewed for 2018 unless we don't fill all the vacant ones on signing day .... or unless we have unexpected attrition AFTER national signing day.
