TN Department of Health revealed that they contacted 300 people and told them they had COVID.....

When they were actually just in contact with a COVID positive person. They said it was a programming error. Something about the COVID positive person and the contact being switched.
I wonder if the COVID person was informed of their positive status.

But in TN, you are not counted as positive unless it is a confirmed case. Well.....that is if someone does not make a mistake.

he was called for having been around someone who tested positive for covid...they asked if he had any symptoms he said no then asked what if he had said yes...they explained that he could be counted as a new positive case...anyone having been in contact with a positive tested person with any symptoms were being counted even without tests to prove it....i dont trust any covid numbers, cases or deaths!!!!

Except to go to the eye doctor (due to shingles) and the grocery once a week.
I don't think any of it is fake.....but something like this could explain some of the issues. These databases are new and it appears they still have bugs.

Anyone who takes it lightly better be careful- mistakes made all the time in statistics but this virus doesn’t cereal who or how many are reported, just wants to infect as many as possible and reproduce itself forever.

Anybody else wonder why the Miami Marlins go from 0 positive cases Sunday to 19 on Tuesday when test results are backlogged so much?
Do professional athletes have access to more immediate lab responses?
And why are their games postponed only for the next 6 days? Are they being quarantined or not?

Ok, partially answered my own question, but ESPN certainly didn't know the answer.
Marlins' positive tests actually have been accumulating since last Friday when the first positive occurred.
Sources say at least 1, maybe 2 players left the team hotel in ATL after their last exhibition game on July 22 (last Wednesday) to go to a strip club. Pretty confident this was the source. Positives have been accumulating since Friday.
MLB says they have done 6400 tests (over 200 per team) since Friday with no one but the Marlins testing positive so far.

But to be honest, I have not looked. I just noticed this one because it was on my local news. However, the report did not make it clear if they properly notified the 300 positive cases.
I think they also said they were counted correctly....just that the wrong people were called with results.
