Allowing the QB to get away with being flushed out, after a Defender had worked his buttt off to corner him for tackle or loss, and simply allowing QB to get off scott-free by being able to throw ball out of bounds if he’s at the hash mark.

Seems unfair to D and a freebie for O.

What thinks youse?

That does make sense. Somewhat on subject, I heard Joe Namath say he only had one intentional grounding called on him and the ball hit the receiver in the foot.

Seems like a socialist position you are taking LbB

Rules fine as it is. Next thing you will be trying to pack the NCAA rules committee.

How bout if the ball carrier saw he was about to be tackled and he could either put his hands up in surrender and avoid being tackled or fumbling..

or he could throw the ball out of bounds and thus avoid being tackled.

Would that be fair, to the defender?

I know that back in your and Bob Neyland’s day, the forward pass was frowned upon…but being a QB is already hard enough…always backing up behind the LOS…have to leave them some sort of escape clause.

OK TigerBTM,,how bout this?!

Allow the QB, when he’s being corned by a hard-working & hard-charging D player, simply ground the play at the point of probable tackle and loss so not to be injured..but not lose a down thru penalty.

OR, or do as DJ did so well in ACCCG and simply chunk it at receivers heel or better yet into the dirt.

LOL!

What I’m trying to do here with this post is to say the Defender works too dang hard to lose his possible tackle to a sissy QB who has an easy outlet.
