Starting THIS FRIDAY, May 24th, @ the same Course (Omni La Costa North Course) in Carlsbad, California that Our Gals just finished up on.
The Parings, Tee Times and Starting Holes for the entire Field are attached. (2 & 3)
Our TIGERS will start on the Back 9, in the Final Morning Pairing. West “by God” Virginia and Utah will be Our Playing Partners for Round 1.

Keep moving forward. Entered as the 10 seed and 59th ranked team at Chapel Hill regional.
Won it all and moved to 48th.
Four teams they beat in Chapel Hill are all still ranked ahead of them (4, 18, 19, 31)
Keep proving them wrong and make the the final 15, then final 8 for match play.

This is one of the strongest fields I can remember. The talent that's competed in PGA, European, and Asian tours as amateurs is remarkable. Absolutely we aim high. 2 decades and a ton of PGA golfers later have already accomplished what they didn't... This is the lowest ranked Clemson team to ever make the Nationals so they've already won.

We should really get a good feel on how we're matching up. Just for FYI to those that don't follow as closely. The morning group of which we're in are the higher seeded teams and the afternoon group are the big boy lower seeds. Interesting. Because I didn't see whether or not the ladies were grouped as such.

Just at a Glance . . . The Omni La Costa North Course is growling at everyone already!!! The scores are going to be ridiculously HIGH!!! I’ve a feeling anything close to Par is going to be excellent!!!

Where it left off w/ the ladies...alot of over-par scores already.
Already got some bogeys & a double bogey on our guys' scorecard. Hopefully can find 1 or 2 to settle in real good & carry to a steady round like what happened in the ladies tournament last weekend.

Ghesh, 14 got to us. Essentially a short par 5. Alberto the only par. Ouch. Nice feather by Andrew after the triple.
Very impressed with tosu, aTm, and ND. We'll see if we can't make the strokes up on the final 3 holes as those teams did.

This course is trash. Didn’t present well with the women and now it looks like it’s ridiculous for the men. Why in the world have they changed to these locked up multi-year contracts with courses for the men and women?

We did improve on the front . . . Had we managed +5 on both sides, we’d still be in the hunt for Top 15 . . .
Our score is what we earned . . . No excuses . . . Just need to play MUCH BETTER . . . Starting tomorrow!!!
Kudos to Andrew, even after a double and a triple, he still managed to shoot +3 for a scoreable round . . . and to Jonathan with a solid +2 . . . the only two with decent rounds.

Think w/ this course is it's gonna put a hurt on ppl...we saw that clear as day in the ladies tournament. But some teams did get better & play their way into a chance by end of it. Hopefully our guys can do that. They've had so many times this year of mixing a real bad round w/ some real good 1s. Let's hope today was the "bad round" & the good golf is coming up, @Skeeta56

Hopefully Thomas bounces back with a great round. We actually made enough birdies but just the disaster holes. Most teams had an Alberto player that shot a big round... but they limited it to one player.
If this was their bad round, we may be in a good position after today. A top 3 round and we're there.

I mentioned during the ladies' tournament that this course is probably much better designed for match play rather than stroke play where there are just too many opportunities to make big numbers on holes. That said, they are all playing the same course, so that should not be an excuse for any team. I think we all knew that this team way over performed at the NCAA Regionals, and for that they should be proud. I think a top 15 finish after two rounds would have been an admirable accomplishment. Heck, just getting there was more than maybe should have been expected. Go Tigers!
