That “I put in the punt pass option 3 years ago and they’ve been waiting on me to call it”…..wonder what that means in reference to him calling plays

I don't know what that means.. I believe Watson was the last one to run it. He may have been referring to that.

Yeah. As you know, Dabo isn't calling the plays but he obviously can override anything as any hc can. That's one of those situations where All coaches have imput.
Although, not sure why he said 3 years. Unless he meant he was waiting for GR to use it. I'm about 99% positive that DJ did it at least one time last year. Thought cade had this year but I guess not. Great call. If it's a coverage bust, easy 6.

....HC virtually always makes the decision whether to punt, kick FG or go for it. HC virtually always makes the decision whether to run a fake punt or FG. (HC virtually always makes the decision whether to go for 1 or 2 on xpt.)
Nothing strange about him making the call to call the punt pass option on 4th down.
That doesn't automatically mean he's calling "x 2 banana y spider" on 3rd and 4.

Most head coaches will either call or give approval for fakes and calls that would cause a turnover on downs if unsuccessful

Strategic call by the head coach. I suspect CK2 had some type of read that wasn't there, so he exercised the punt option.
