I always took it as a disclaimer that insulated crump from the feedback for making fun of our opponents and other teams. Today I wonder if it's just crump's way of helping the Pigskin Prophet to keep in mind that he isn't getting paid for these articles.

Steele because of our acc championship season because of the wv debacle when his body of work really isn't that bad. He had two top 25 defenses maybe even top 20 before that season and had a good resume prior. The 11 and 12 defenses had serious personnel flaws and we're both ranked in the 60s. He coached one, Bv coached the other.

Tig Willard looked like a deer in the headlights when he should have been moving his feet toward his assignment. I guess that was Steel's fault in a way.

When a defensive Coordinator passes up on a player that's jumping up and down waving his hands saying I'm yours, just offer, I have loved Clemson my entire life. And that recruit happens to be a wild Ben Boulware, AKA human Tasmanian Tiger. And that defensive coordinator turns his head bc he don't won't him. That is the biggest reason Kevin Steele will fail every where he is the defensive coordinator. Steele don't use what he preaches to his players, " use your eyes", bc he surely didn't use his eyes to look Ben Boulware's way, and he was jumping up and down trying to get his attention. Steele didn't even have to waist any time to recruit Ben, just offer him. The only credit I give to Steele, he was the reason Dabo went hard after BV. The coach that some said they didn't want, and some said that BV couldn't be hired away from Oaklahoma. The one that is now making over a Mill at Clemson, and yes, the same guy that had the #1 defense in the country in his 3d year at Clemson. BV took over a disastrous Steele defense that was begging for mercy, and now has them wanting to RIP our opponents face off!!!
