What was the Clemson Football record when you were in

school at Clemson? Vs the Dirtpeckers?
1997 - 2000 - 25-22 (.531).
- Tommy West's last year was terrible - 2000 started off great, but then a loss to GT and a blowout loss to FSU (54-7) Brought us back to reality. - Did go 4-0 vs the Coots though.
Of course, the perfect kick in the nutsto end the season was going to the Gator Bowl vs VT, but never actually making to the game as I got food poisoning 4am the morning of the game (ate some bad chicken I think from a restaurant).
Had to go to the hospital and get 3 doses of anti nausea and they finally just knocked me out b/c I couldn't stop throwing up. Probably for the better anyway as Woody Dantzler was hobbled with an ankle sprain and wasn't his normal self.

no better though!...
1968 4-5-1
1969 4-6
1970 3-8
1971 5-6
And to top it off, we went 1-3 against the coots!
Pretty sure it was the worst four year stretch in Clemson football history!! In four years, we won 16 games, one more than we won last year!!

hiester: I was talked into tubing part of Section III on the Chattooga in the summer of '73. I was living in LeMans Apartments. Of course, it was an epic expedition. Within a couple of years, I was a constant visitor. I have been canoeing and kayaking there for more than forty years. The Chattooga River is a national treasure. Everyone should experience from the water or from land!

You can look up records by Year
Dec 19, 2019, 8:10 PM
|
|
at this good website:
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/clemson/index.html
If you click on the year, then you can see statistics, like scoring, passing, Defense, etc. Or, you can click on a bunch of other links that tell your schedule, game stats, roster, etc.
All cool stuff.

1987-1990: 40-8 4 bowl wins. At the time, we thought that was our hayday. In hindsight, "the best was yet to come."
Coots: 28-17-1 with 0-2 bowl record. In hindsight, the worst was yet to come.

1968-1972
4-5-1 4-6 3-8 5-6 4-7
The ordeal made me a stronger fan. Buddy of mine's wife was a graduate student who was able to buy discounted season tickets. She ordered 4 tickets and I paid for 2 of them for two years. When she got her masters, they moved to Florida and I lost my cheap and excellent tickets. I did not buy season tickets in 1975 and 1976. I bought my first season tickets in my name in 1977. 42 years and 3 Nattys later, I now have pretty sweet tickets, but I suffered through through a lot of losing years before the tide turned.
We have had 4 losing seasons in the 42 years I've had my own season tickets. Over the same years, LSU has posted 10 losing seasons. Bama has had 5 losing seasons. Georgia has had 5 losing seasons. Tennessee has posted 11 losing seasons. Florida has matched Clemson, only posting 4 losing seasons in the past 42 years.
All in all, our ride over 42 years has been better than many other teams whom you might guess have had more success than our Tigers. I like where we stand today.

That's a monster stretch there.
Graduated at the right time too. That was the best 4 year record in school history, possibly, until 2012-2015.

1985-1988. Half of those loses coming in one year, 1985. Always thought we were pretty dang good when I was a student, but nothing compared to what the students there now are experiencing, and about to experience.

I was there for "the turnaround"... lost to Tulane my very 1st game

my freshman year in 1975. 2nd game, lost 56-0 versus Bama... in the era of low scoring games like 14-10. We blew donkey balls and finished 2-9. No expectations, hadn't even been to a crappy bowl in 20 years. By 1978 we were 11-1 and ranked #6 and beat (who else) Ohio St in the Gator Bowl. We all thought that all the planets had lined up and this was as good as it gets for little old Clempsin...

Was at that Bama game. Went to 9 games that year. Expected good team but they were awful.

Mine was pretty good. I was there from 2013-2018. It was amazing. I had always wanted to go to Clemson ever since I was young. Was a diehard fan when I was 5 and saw Woody beat the coots. It was so amazing to be a student and see the team I grew up loving win a national championship.

add in grad school

In town from 1966 through 1983 seasons, so caught some lean years. Enrolled in Clemson starting in 1977. 4.5 years for undergrad and then some grad school. Pell-Ford years.
8-3-1 11-1 8-4 6-5 12-0 9-1-1 9-1-1
63-15-3 overall with only one loss to Gamecocks. Looked pretty good until the current run. That is fine by me. The best is yet to come!

1972 4-7 Hootie Ingram 1973 5-6 Red Parker 1974 7-4 """""""""" 1975 2-9 """"""""""
2-2 vs coots. Steve Fuller a freshman in 1975. We beat UNC in '74, 54-32. Both schools had 7-4 records, but they got to go to a bowl and we didn't. Think they lost in the bowl.
