First trip was a freebie using players brought in by Purnell. It's really more like a slllsl2 for 12 with own recruited players. Yikes! that's way worse with 1 trip every 6 years.
Sadly for some reason it was enough to impress GNeff to walk.

Clemson has been to the NCAA 3 times, Ga Tech and Wake Forest 1 time each, and Boston College 0 times.
Every other school has been to the NCAA's at least 5 times (Pitt & Va Tech) during Brad's ever-lengthening slumber. Most schools have been 6 or more times (NCSU, Miami & Fla State 6 times, Notre Dame and Louisville 7 times, Cuse 8, UVA 9, Duke & UNC 11 times).
We are the bottom of the barrel.

So, the very clear message that recruits get is, no matter what anybody says, if you want to win championships, play in the NCAA Tournament, play for a ranked team, or God-forbid, play in the NBA ... DON'T COME TO CLEMSON AND PLAY FOR BRAD BROWNELL.

that making the NCAA Tournament is not the only way to gauge or measure a successful program. While I agree, at least in part, winning and having a chance to play for a national championship, albeit remote, would be in the top two or three.
