We have 10 commits and at least 19 openings so not sure where you get 16.
1 RB (not a need but should always take one in every class)
1 WR
1 TE (Not really a need IMO)
1 OL (Always take at least three in every class no matter what)
1 CB (Dude from Mauldin)
1 LB
2 DE
2 DT likely take the best 3 DT/DE prospects

Coaches figure in attrition without knowing which players will leave the program. For this reason a ship is not freed up every time some leaves.
