2 questions about our final 2 possessions:

First let's start with the onside recovery and the rare great field position: After the jet sweep and Mafah dive we are a manageable 3rd ad 6: QB counter?, Slant?, Brinny on a choice route?. Heck I'd even have taken a TJ tunnel screen. Nah lets just chuck it 40 down the field to a bracketed receiver. I haven't had the stomach to rewatch. Anybody that has, did it appear Cade checked out of original playcall?

Final Drive: Dabo says he told Cade to throw out of bounds or to the E.Z. If that's the case why not have Mafah in on Pass pro and remove the temptation for Cade to go braindead (which he already has a long track record of doing in crucial 2 min. situations) and throw a check down.

This last mishap has been discussed quite a bit, but I would like to understand the thinking on such a low percentage play that gave them the ball back to start their winning drive. ????

I want to know if Cade's intention on that last drive was to kill it at Mafah's

feet. When Dylan Stewart busted through he didn't have much time and he was still in the pocket. Throwing it away would result in grounding and loss of down. His only option was to scramble (which I don't think he would have gotten away), throw it up for grabs off his back foot, or kill it at Mafah's feet. It ended up hitting Mafah's right hand and the Coot defender just mad a #### good play.

The interception was bad luck.

That last drive was really great - reminds me of how we took it down the field so many times earlier this year. Need to have more of that and work the run in with a Hurt Mafah.

The previous drive… just too conservative. I am sure flashbacks from two years ago played in the teams head. Last year’s game plan was to run the ball, chew clock, and not give the game away and it seemed like we did a slightly more aggressive version of this this year.

All that being said, in some ways I’m glad we have a bad luck play end the game vs a potential blocked kick… I think we’d be in bigger uproar if that were to have happened.

Tigers need to be aggressive vs SMU. Take chances. Blitz - no time to be scared. This game saves the season and puts us back on the map!

next to last possession throw a pass that moves the chains. you're not stopping Sellars so why the rush to score.

Last possession end zone or sideline. It is him and his late game bonehead stuff rearing its ugly head again. He got a nice run vs Pitt to save our bacon. Unlike watson/ lawrence I would never depend on his late game 2 minute drill passing.

I like Cade but he is an ok qb he is not Mr Clutch ion late game passing

Cade, tho not perfect, is the best player on the team. Coaching starting with Dabo is second rate (and forget about special teams which is ultimately on Dabo) Cade put up 14 pts on his own vs SC and saved Dabo vs Pitt.

I'll say on the final drive you gain an advantage of sneaking Mafah out to pull one of the LBers in for coverage. In theory, it opens things up.

I wish you could see a taped film session each week with the OC/DC going over 4-5 plays in the game...picked by Merriweather or radio staff. Is Sapp still doing this too? Pick a few that worked and then 2 that don't. Have them explain maybe they jumped on a tendency or thought something would work, etc. It'd provide insight to the average fan to understand why things are done sometimes.

Unfortunately, like others said, sometimes the other team just makes a play.
