We old guys are keeping the dermatologists in business

Was in Dr. Catanzaro's office at 8:30 this morning and there were 10 men and only one woman waiting to see the docs. Of course, I think all the men were there at their wife's demand. The spot my wife was worried about was nothing but the 3 spots I asked about all got zapped as pre-cancerous. That makes 5 spots in a row that I spotted and pointed out to the doctors that were positive - shoulda been a skin doctor.

Actually, that little line item I pay every month that says FICA on my paycheck, is keeping the dermatologists in business.

We exposed ourselves to too much sun in our younger years. Our skin cells are telling us that now.

Good for you. I’ve had three cancerous areas removed in the last two months. Several precancerous, as you said were zapped. In my doctors office there were 3 men and 3 women. Maybe you need a new doctor.

Glad you got them early. I’ve always thought you were much smarter than me and you just proved it again. I avoid going to see the doctor like the plague. Doesn’t even make sense when I say it that way…

Protect you skin from the sun. The Army didn't recognize the need for sunscreen during my time, and I have ended up with melanoma cancer. Can't be cured.

As well.

Made an appt. Got a text from greenville dermatolgy in woodruff rd

We expect to see you at 9:10 am.

Cool. Filled out the online forms like they wanted to make things faster.

Got there at 8:50 am. Still had to fill out more forms. Cool.

Filled out forms day in waiting room

At 9:50 I got up told the lady I was leaving . Saw multiple people and go while I just say there for an hr.

That dr is a d!ck and can kiss my ####. If you can't see some 1 don't make an appt. If you are running late let the person in the waiting room know so they can decide if they have time to wait or if they should just reschedule.

That arrogant prick expects everyone to just sit around and be scene at his pleasure.

Yeah greenville dermatolgy in woodruff rd is a crapshow

Yikes! I don’t know what was going on over there today but give another try. Dr. Miller is probably the best in Greenville. Very quiet man, but he has helped our family for 20 years. I’m really sorry you got treated that way.

started after I got colon cancer. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry. It cost $20 copay and takes a few minutes. Dr office is 10 min from work. She burned off a few spots on my head the first couple of years, but nothing in the last 7 or 8 years.

I just buy wart remover from Walmart. $4.37 store brand. It will take off anything in a week.

No barnacles on me!

They always burn pre cancerous spots off of my head. Next year they want to use some type of cream to take care of them. Not easy being bald. Lol.
Hopefully they know what they are doing.

My son went to a different doctor who had him use a cream- so many spots showed up that it was scary……. but supposedly it gets rid of them.

It does indeed. If you can tolerate the fun that the 3rd week of efudex or aldara brings it’s a great solution to diffuse pre cancers

Thanks for the reminder, I need to make an appointment. I’m in my early 50’s and have had a lot of new spots pop up recently. I practically lived on the water growing up fishing, surfing, commercial crabbing, and working at a marina. Also played a lot of baseball. We never wore sunscreen, don’t really remember anybody using it. The girls on the beach would use baby oil to intensify the tan.

He'll find an AK to zap, at a minimum.

Any of you get the 'blue light' special? Wholly hailstorm! Doc talked me into it...after I had a basal cancer cut from the side of my nose.

They put this solution on your face, then wait an hour. Upon return, goggles go on and the blue light's fired up. The nurse had special goggles on, herself, and commented on all the pre-cancerous cells on my face.

Anyway...it's putting your face in a cast iron skillet! Have to treat 16:30 exactly...I could hear my skin 'sizzling like bacon'. On 1 to 10 scale...it approached 8. She said no one had ever left mid-treatment...I told her I came close.

Lived the hermit life for a week...stay indoors...away from any sunlight, or you'll feel your skin start crawling again. A few days later, I looked like a leper colony escapee! Not purdy!

I will say, it has made quite a difference...although I don't look younger! ;)

blue light can be brutal for sure. Effective, but brutal. As someone who diagnoses and treats skin cancer for a living, I can say the thought of blue light is up there with the thought of skin cancer surgeries as to the leading reasons I cover up and sunscreen up

He keeps me on a 6-month turn currently...I'm ok with that. Usually only in for about 15 minutes. Beats alternatives, as you note! Seldom am I out during mid-day sun.
