"Captain Comeback" did OK.
He won the 1963 Heisman Trophy and then went into the Navy for 5 years.

After serving in VN he tried football again.

In the NFL He led his team to the Super Bowl five times. He led to victories in Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII.

He retired from football with the highest career passer rating in NFL history at the time, 83.4, and was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is ranked No. 29 on The Sporting News list of the 100 Greatest Football Players.

They could but the guys likely to have a shot at the pros aren’t going to the academies any longer. Football has changed a bit since the 1960s.

Napoleum McCallum is in the college HOF

He was on the Navy team in 1984 that beat SCar 38-21 when they were 9-0 and ranked #2 lol.

Also David Robinson, a former Midshipman, is in the NBA HOF.
