Marcus Sims - Running Back
Height: 6-0   Weight: 211   Hometown: Tallahassee, FL (North Florida Christian HS)   Class: 2006
ESPN: NR

Marcus Sims was considered a lock for Florida State for much of the recruiting process. All of his family ties go to the Seminoles with the most recent being his older brother Ernie. The younger Sims could be looking in a different direction.

"My family wants me to do what is best for me. It was my Dad that called Coach Swinney at Clemson. He really wants me to play running back. He wants me to go to a school that needs a running back. Clemson needs a running back."

Sims has two remaining official visits. He is scheduled to go Clemson on January 13th and Florida State January 27th. If history stands correct, when a player goes to Florida State the last weekend in January, he signs with Florida State.

Currently, Florida State is recruiting Sims as a linebacker. The Seminoles have a deep stable of talent at linebacker and running back already. It also should be mentioned that Florida State is a finalist for CJ Spiller, who is one of the most talented running backs in the country. So what will be the deciding factor for Sims?

"I want to go somewhere I can play early. Clemson, Florida State, and Alabama all give me a chance to get on the field early. Some schools I would have more competition, but that is fine with me. Competition will only make you a better player. I watched that with my brother at Florida State."

Dabo Swinney is the recruiter of record here. Clemson has no shot with Marcus Sims the linebacker, but as a running back Clemson is a factor. Stay tuned...
