Jordan Hammond - Tight End

It is an adjustment for those, who follow Clemson recruiting, but the numbers will have to be adjusted to carry more tight ends. The Tigers could conceivably carry 5 to 6 tight ends on scholarship.

One prospect for 2007 is Jordan Hammond. Hammond has the Tigers as a solid contender for his services. Hammond recently cut his list to five schools.

"Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, LSU, and Georgia are my top five. I do not have a leader out of that group.

Clemson has a very high graduation rate. They are recruiting as a tight end and a defensive end. Coach Rumph said if I played defense I would play bandit.

Georgia is the one school that is recruiting me as a tight end only. They are pretty successful at developing tight ends. They may have more tight ends in the NFL than anyone.

Florida is very aggressive in recruiting. They send out a lot of mail. Coach Meyer is gonna be successful there.

Ohio State contends for a national title every year. They are pretty far away, but I think I could handle it.

LSU is one of the top schools in the SEC. Their offense uses the tight end, and I would have a chance to catch some passes there."

Clemson is right in the mix for Hammond, and Hammond said he hopes to take a trip to Clemson this summer. Chris Rumph is recruiting Hammond for the Tigers.
