Early enrollee

Brings to Clemson: Charleston’s highlight reel shows big hits, good closing speed in the open field and a playmaker when he can get his hands on the ball. Charleston took a no-nonsense approach to the recruiting process and locked in on a commitment early - rarely entertaining the interviews that came with his status as a major prospect. Charleston does his talking on the field and that was enough to help lead Milton (Ga.) to a state title last season.

Depth chart fit: All the key figures from Clemson’s safety group could return in 2019 with K’Von Wallace, Tanner Muse and Denzel Johnson as rising seniors and Nolan Turner a rising junior. That said, Charleston could use the extra practices from enrolling early - and at least four games of action - to state his case as a regular contributor next season.

Number to know: 435 - Days Charleston was committed before signing with the Tigers despite offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Florida State and more Power 5 programs.
