The recent success of Justin Miller and Tye Hill have put Clemson in position to land strong secondary classes. Last season, DeAndre McDaniel headed the secondary class.
This year Clemson would like to land Lorenzo Edwards from Orlando, Florida. Edwards has offers from Clemson, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, West Virginia, among others. "I am wide open right now. There are a lot schools to pick from, and I want to make sure I have time to make a decision. I will take some trips this summer, and then maybe I will have some answers." The summer tour will kickoff with a big swing through the midwest for Edwards. "I am going to the Adidas camp at Notre Dame. I am also going to check out Michigan and Northwestern, while I am up there. It will be an opportunity to check the academics at each place. I have a good idea of what football is like everywhere, but I want to see how they take care of you academically." Edwards could easily grow into a linebacker at the next level, but his primary goal is to stay at safety. "Some schools have talked to me about linebacker, but I want to stay in the secondary. Some people say I can't cover at my size, but I prove them wrong every time. They have molds for every position, and it is hard to think a player in a different mold could play that position." Edwards says he is unsure of what other visits he will take this summer, but he said a trip to Clemson would be a possibility.
