Byron Maxwell was one of the first juniors Clemson jumped. The coaches have already seen him in person at the camp last season. Maxwell currently holds two offers.
"Clemson and Louisville both have offered. Maryland and South Carolina I believe are close to offering. There is a lot I like about all four schools, but right now Clemson and Maryland have the edge." Maxwell is still a candidate for an early commitment. We still believe that Clemson holds the edge, and Maxwell could be the first to fall for the Tigers. "I want to make my decision before the season. I would like to focus on football and not have any distractions." When Maxwell makes his decision playing time may not be the number one factor. "Academics will play a big part in my decision. My family wants me to get a good education. Football will come in time, but I have to make sure the academics are taken care of first." Maxwell will camp at Clemson again this summer, and we will keep a very close eye on him once the camps start up.
