Former Clemson DB signs extension with Roughriders

CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders announced the signing of an extension for former Clemson cornerback Crezdon Butler on Friday.

The 30-year old had 39 tackles including two sacks and an interception in 15 games last season with Saskatchewan.

In 2016, Butler played in one game with the Detriot Lions and made two tackles against the Green Bay Packers in week 17. In 2015, the seven-year veteran appeared in nine games with the Lions and had three total tackles.

Butler has 27 career tackles and two forced fumbles while playing for seven different NFL teams including Pittsburgh (2010), Arizona (2011), Washington (2011-2012), Buffalo (2012-2013), San Diego (2013), Tampa Bay (2014), and Detroit (2015-2016). He appeared in two playoff games with the Chargers in 2013 and played in a total of 46 career NFL games.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round (#164 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. At Clemson, he finished his collegiate career with 166 tackles, two sacks, and eleven interceptions.
