SportsCenter to televise Clemson’s arrival home as National Champions

by -

ESPN will break into normal programming this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET for SportsCenter to have live coverage of the arrival on the new national champion Clemson Tigers on the Clemson University campus in South Carolina.

Clemson won the College Football Playoff National Championship game last night over Alabama in Tampa and the team is flying home today.

SportsCenter anchor Jay Crawford will be outside the Clemson football stadium and will be joined by reporter Marty Smith, who is flying on the team plane from Tampa to Greenville, S.C. The team will be transported by bus from the airport to the Clemson campus, where a crowd of several thousand is expected to welcome the team home. Reporter Jeannine Edwards will be at the airport.

NFL Live will resume on ESPN after coverage of the arrival.

More Clemson coverage will air in the 6 p.m. edition of SportsCenter, including an interview with coach Dabo Swinney, some video with Smith from inside the team plane and more player interviews.
