From al.com:
This development is just the latest evidence that college football needs an early signing period. It shouldn't happen in early December, when some high school teams are deep in their state playoffs and their players don't need this kind of distraction. It should happen in late July or early August, after prospects have taken unofficial visits to any number of schools, often for camps that have become prime recruiting tools.
That and Nkemdiche's talent - plus the fact that his commitment means nothing from a practical standpoint - mean that he will continue to be at the center of a fierce recruiting battle all the way to signing day on the first Wednesday in February. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and his staff will have to work at least as hard to keep Nkemdiche's commitment as they did to secure it in the first place.
