James Davis - Running Back
Height: 6-0   Weight: 205   Hometown: Atlanta, GA (Douglass HS)   Class: 2005
ESPN: NR

James Davis has been the top target at running back since the summer. As of late, the Tigers have made huge strides towards inking Davis' signature on signing day.

"Clemson and Virginia Tech have been calling a lot. I haven't heard from Tennessee in awhile."

Davis has mentioned that the change in offensive coordinator has helped Clemson get back in the race.

"Clemson was my top school during the summer, but they threw the ball almost the whole time when I watched them. Now, I am watching what they do with the offensive coordinator. If they get a coach, who will show more of commitment to the running game, then I would look forward to playing there. I could play close to home, and my family could come see me play."

Coach Burton Burns has been in the home with Davis the last two weeks, and this week Head Coach Tommy Bowden will come with Coach Burns to visit Davis.

"Coach Burns has came by the last two weeks, and he called me just a few minutes ago. We mainly talk about the offensive coordinator situation. He is supposed to come by with Coach Bowden on Tuesday."

Davis will play in the North-South Georgia All-Star game on December 21.

"I am excited about playing again. I am going to get back to working out everyday this week. I report on the December 18."

Davis still has his official visit scheduled for January 14 with Clemson. We will continue to keep you posted on Davis' status.
