Miami's Mark Richt takes a jab at Clemson |
According to the Palm Beach Post, Miami head coach Mark Richt took a dig at Clemson on Thursday during a ceremony where the City of Miami handed Richt a key to the city.
“It’s (Miami) like no other place in America,” Richt said. “Even in recruiting, we can sell things that no one else can sell. They can build all they want. They can have all they want. I mean, there’s schools building slides and playgrounds in their building, just so they can have fun. I said, we’ve got the beach. We don’t have to build some slide to have fun.” The slide and playground are a reference to Clemson's new $55 million football operations facility that opened earlier this year. Clemson residents will no doubt take issue that there are no beaches in Clemson as there are a couple of beach areas on Lake Hartwell that borders the campus. Listen to Richt's comments are at the 4:30 mark:
