Tee Higgins is already a hometown legend back at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Oak Ridge High school has decided to retire his No. 5 football jersey during a halftime ceremony of the Oak Ridge Wildcats boys’ basketball game against Campbell County on Friday, February 1. The entire day will be called 'Tee Higgins Day' at the school. Higgins becomes the third jersey number retired in the 76-year history of the program. The 6-foot-4 playmaker had 59 receptions for 936 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season for Clemson's National title team. As a high school senior, he had 68 receptions for 1,044 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. During his junior year, he had 46 receptions for 841 yards and 16 touchdowns. Both seasons he was named Mr. Football in Tennessee at the AAAAA level. Come witness history being made Friday Feb 1st in Wildcat Arena on Tee Higgins Night. Congratulate our hometown hero on his National Championship and watch as his #5 becomes only the third number to be retired in our 76 year school history.
