Report: Nets to decline option on K.J. McDaniels

The Brooklyn Nets will not be picking up the final year of swingman K.J. McDaniels' $3.47 million contract according to Yahoo's Shams Charania.

The former Clemson standout will now become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The 24-year old will more than likely find an NBA suitor because of his versatile defense that led players shooting 4.9% worse against him than league average.

In 2016, McDaniels averaged 4.2 points, 0.3 assists, 1.7 rebounds in 10.3 minutes of court action. However, in 20 games with the Nets, he averaged a decent six points and three rebounds in 15 minutes of action per game. For his NBA career, he is averaging 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 148 games.
