Mays Suffers Fracture On Left Hand |
CLEMSON - James Mays played the entire game against top-ranked North Carolina Sunday night with a broken left hand. Clemson head coach Oliver Purnell made the announcement during the ACC Teleconfernce Monday morning. Sports Information Director Tim Bourret confirmed the injury a short time later. According to Purnell, Mays jammed a finger catching a ball awkwardly during warmups prior to the overtime loss to UNC Sunday. Mays played the game despite the injury, finishing with nine points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots. Bourret said Mays will play Wednesday's game vs. Charlotte with a small brace on the hand.
