Questions Surrounding Korn's Status Arise Again

by -

CLEMSON - With a rejuvenated Central Michigan football team lurking around the corner, the only questions being asked Wednesday after practice were about Willy Korn.

Who knew that a freshman who has only played in mop-up roles in two games this season would be the focus of reporters? questions through six games of the 2007 season?

Why were they asking about him?

No, he?s not being slated as the starter for this week?s game. Instead, everyone is wondering whether or not Willy Korn will redshirt.

?Willy and I talk week to week and we?ve said from day one that we are going to do what?s best for Clemson,? said Tommy Bowden.

And that was pretty much it.

When asked about Korn?s health - there are whispers he has shoulder/arm troubles - Bowden simply replied with, ?I think what I already said answers that. We talk week to week and we?ll do what?s best for Clemson.?

Korn has seen the field in two games this year. His first appearance came against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks with the Tigers already leading 42-10. The next week, Korn was put in the game against Furman when the Tigers were leading 31-3.

Since those two games, Bowden has been saying there is a chance that Korn may see some significant playing time. In fact, there is a chance you may see Korn in this weekends game with Central Michigan.

Will it happen?

We won?t know until after Saturday. Just don?t expect to have too many answers that soon.
