CLEMSON - One by one the questions are being answered. Every challenge that pops up in his path, Will Proctor has knocked down.

Granted, it's only three games into his redshirt senior season - his only season as Clemson's starting quarterback. But if those three games are any indication of what's still to come, fans and critics alike can quit questioning the Tigers' quarterback position.

"You don't really know until you see him in certain situations," head coach Tommy Bowden said. "How is he going to react on the road in a hostile environment, late in the game, needing to drive the length of the field for a winning touchdown? He's done it now, and has played about as well as we could have hoped."

The drive Bowden referenced - the game winner vs. Florida State last Saturday - saw Proctor make just one throw.

But it was his overall play in Tallahassee that seemed to signal his arrival as offensive coordinator Rob Spence's next successful quarterback. Proctor looked far more at ease in the pocket than in the two previous games, and executed Spence's game plan to perfection.

Whether called on to run or throw aggressively downfield, Proctor did everything his offensive coaches asked. And then some.

"I prefer to look at accomplishments over the course of an entire season," Spence said after Tuesday's practice. "Right now it's just three games in, and he's performed very, very well. Let's hope the full body of work continues to be as good, even better."
